Ingenious solutions for the Fourth Industrial Revolution

Faster, better, safer – labeling technology gives you a competitive advantage

KBA-Metronic GmbH at Motek 2016 in Stuttgart, hall 7, stand 7130 - n the age of smart factories, ever-increasing demands in terms of quality and performance are being placed on state-of-the-art labeling technology.

If the experts are to be believed, the digitally networked revolution that is Industry 4.0 is set to transform all of our production and automation processes. At this year's Motek trade fair, labeling specialist KBA-Metronic will be presenting ingenious technical solutions that are designed to meet all of the requirements of digital networking. In the age of smart factories, ever-increasing demands in terms of quality and performance are being placed on state-of-the-art labeling technology.

Current trends in labeling are toward faster processing speeds, the ability to integrate solutions more reliably, and greater flexibility. The clarity of the print image and the reproducibility of print results are also important for increasingly automated production processes. On the other hand, customers also expect efficiency and cost savings. This can only work with suitable, high-performance labeling technology.

At the Motek trade fair, KBA-Metronic will be exhibiting an extensive portfolio of products designed to meet the requirements of Industry 4.0. Capable and compact lasers offer permanent marking solutions that are the preferred choice for all applications requiring counterfeit protection or traceability. Since lasers also require no consumables, they are perfect for working environments where low emissions (maximum workplace concentration, MAK) and consumption costs are important.

In addition, visitors to the trade fair will also be able to look at the family of ink jet units in Stuttgart. With a wide range of inks - from standard inks to special inks such as UV ink - ink jets can be used extremely flexibly for many different applications. In terms of their design and construction, they can also be integrated in a wide range of different production lines. KBA-Metronic has developed the intelligent and modular software "code-M" for this purpose. At Motek, visitors will be able to see for themselves the benefits offered by the surprisingly user-friendly software in terms of transparency and safety of processes.

The ideal prerequisite for complex networking: complex know-how

So that companies can take advantage of the benefits of digital networking, absolutely everything has to fit: connections and communications with various interfaces, automatic control processes, feedback to linked databases. This requires experienced experts who are capable of immersing themselves with the required passion in the practical requirements and who can develop applications that are tailored to the conditions on-site. Years ago, KBA-Metronic - a medium-sized company from the Franconian town of Veitshöchheim in Germany - already started to focus on flexible integration both online and offline, with modular concepts and intelligent interfaces. "We have a central core competence that has been at the heart of what we do for decades," explains CEO Oliver Volland. "This has provided us with a level of knowledge and expertise that enables us to deliver decisive and practical solutions for customer-specific requirements. We combine full competence from development to production and aftersales service under our own roof, so you could not get any closer to the needs and requirements of the markets." In this way, the company has also established a global reputation with the familiar quality tag "Made in Germany".

The Motek trade fair is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the technical possibilities for integrating a wide range of different labeling units - and to take advantage of the opportunity for some personal networking in the process.
