Grilled Plant Protein Power Patty Burgers with Roasted Sweet Potato Fries

This recipe leverages the grill cooking method suggested on the packaging and pairs the patties with flavorful roasted sweet potato fries and fresh toppings for a complete meal.

Yields: 2 servings Prep time: 15 minutes Cook time: 25-30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 Lion Crest Plant Protein Power Patties (from the package)
  • 2 burger buns of your choice (whole wheat, brioche, gluten-free, etc.)
  • 1 medium sweet potato, peeled and cut into 1/4-inch thick fries
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Your favorite burger toppings: Lettuce leaves, tomato slices, red onion slices, pickles Vegan mayonnaise or aioli, ketchup or mustard, vegan cheese slices (optional)

Equipment:

  • Grill (gas grill recommended as per packaging)
  • Baking sheet Parchment paper or aluminum foil
  • Mixing bowl

Instructions:

Prepare Sweet Potato Fries: Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F). In a mixing bowl, toss the sweet potato fries with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated. Spread the seasoned sweet potato fries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Roast for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and tender-crisp.

Prepare the Patties (while fries are roasting): Preheat your gas grill to medium heat. Lightly brush the grill grates with oil to prevent sticking. Place the frozen Lion Crest Plant Protein Power Patties directly on the preheated grill. Cook for about 3 minutes per side, covering the grill, until cooked through and an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) is reached.

Assemble the Burgers: While the patties are cooking, you can lightly toast your burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes, if desired. Once the patties are cooked, begin assembling your burgers. Spread your preferred condiments on the buns. Place a cooked plant protein patty on the bottom half of each bun. Layer with your desired toppings: lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, and vegan cheese if using. Place the top bun on top. Serve: Serve the Grilled Plant Protein Power Patty Burgers immediately with the roasted sweet potato fries on the side.
